At Home With Shellie
Shellie Layne is the founder of At Home Foundation, Inc., and the Women Under Construction Network (WUCN). She embraces her mission to empower and motivate women using tools, home furnishings and home repair applications. Shellie is the motivational speaker for our annual Power UP: It's a Mother-Daughter Thing! program, motivating many of our participating youth with her empowering messages.
Shellie is the visionary, host and executive producer of "At Home with Shellie" as well as the writer and creator of the weekly signature column of the same name in the Birmingham Times Newspaper.
Ms. Layne’s former career as a multi-million dollar producing real estate agent and broker and her vast experience in media and human service mixed with her warm, energetic personality allow her entrance into every woman’s world. She writes, speaks, produces and develops media with a timeless foundational, back to basics message for individuals, corporations, community and civic organizations.
As a keynote and group speaker Shellie inspires women, and in her role as the host of "At Home with Shellie" she makes viewers comfortable with life changing At Home topics. Shellie built the At Home organizations on the foundation of transparency. Many of the AHF, Inc. tool, furnishing and home repair parallels were born out of her own life experiences (positive and negative) as a woman, a mom and a corporate professional coupled with principles she learned as a young girl.
With her own elements of style and wisdom, Shellie works diligently to motivate, educate, inspire and empower women At Home, in their careers and in life.
Shellie is a native of Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a Masters in Education from Cambridge College. She has hosted and been featured on radio and television shows across the Northeast and Southeast. Her radio show "At Home Tips in a Minute" currently airs across the nation in twelve states and in over twenty-three markets. Look for her exciting new “Success Tools for Life Series” and keep an eye out for her book launch later this year!
